Bilateral minimal hearing loss, known also as borderline hearing loss, refers to a slight (15-25 dBHL) increase of the auditory threshold in the speech frequency range. The research performed so far has indicated the possible influence of minimal
hearing loss on the development of communicative skills, educational and psychosocial outcomes of a child. The evaluation
of this influence should be individualized. Recurrent disturbances in sound conduction system may significantly decrease auditory capacity of children and, therefore, they should be audiologically monitored. This paper also shows the necessity to provide hearing aids and FM technology support.
